My PhD research was a multi-collaboration project between University College London (UCL) in London with European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) and Institut Laue Langevin (ILL) at Grenoble; to study the structural characteristics of dsDNA-protein complexes with drug like ligands using crystallographic and biophysical techniques. Following my PhD, my post-doctoral research has involved studying DNA repair factors and their role in chemical modification such as ADP-ribosylation. During my postdoctoral research I was able to characterise mechanistic function of a novel DNA repair factor and identify DNA and RNA as novel ADP-ribosylation targets. My work in Sanyal lab focuses on characterising non-structural proteins of SARS-CoV-2 to further understand their role in virus-host interactions using biochemical and structure-based approaches.
