Dorian Crudgington

I studied biological sciences at Bournemouth University before working in an NHS virology lab performing PCR testing for COVID-19, whilst assisting the sequencing efforts by the COVID-19 Genomics Consortium (COG-UK) to track variants of concern. I started on the BBSRC interdisciplinary bioscience doctoral training partnership in 2021 and joined the Sumana Sanyal lab in January 2022 as one of my rotation projects before defining my final DPhil project. My research interests are centred around host immune evasion strategies employed by SARS-CoV-2 with a specific focus on how SARS-CoV-2 accessory proteins interact and modify the pathway of MHC-I proteins in host cells.
